Biography
“Music is everybody’s possession. It’s only publishers who think that people own it.” (John Lennon)
Kae is an alternative band founded in 2011. Leadsinger Korine Varekamp is accompanied by guitarist Danny Willeboordse, keyboard player Boudewijn van den Berg, bass player Pim Nagtzaam and drummer Rob Wagterveld.
Our music is very dynamic and has influences of Beth Gibbons, Morrissey and Kate Bush. The lyrics are realistic, profound, gloomy and are often cynical inspired by daily situations. Within the music they’re put down in a criticizing way. The vocals being thrilling and mysterious makes the music in its combination different, conflicting and timeless.
Kae doesn’t believe in: T.v. shows such as X-Factor or The Voice of Where Ever Country; Record labels and contract agreements with very unfavorable contract terms for a party; The conventional music business concept; Opportunism and trends.
Kae does believe in: Going against the tide; The new music business concept; Cooperation on an equal basis; Sharing- means winning; Being down-to-earth.
